In Other News, Bruce Willis Is A Badass
So, guess who just went and got the new Gorillaz album? :D It's seriously awesome, guys. Srsly. My favorite tracks right now are Empire Ants, Rhinestone Eyes, Stylo, White Flag and To Binge. Been listening to a lot of their music lately. I HAVE BEEN STRUCK BY THE GORILLAZ BUG. I think these guys are the closest to Bandom I'll ever get, simply because the characters don't technically exist. Therefore, I don't feel terribly guilty about reading up on their history and stuff, which the creators clearly have a lot of fun with. So many outlandish things these guys have been through...it's fun.
Also recently read a whole bunch of issues of Sonic the Comic, the European comic. They stopped making new issues, unfortunately, but there is an online continuation here. While the continuation is good, it is a shame that the series was discontinued. I really liked the characters, the SegaSonic ones (especially the takes on Super Sonic, Amy Rose, Knuckles and his tribe, Metal Sonic and the Brotherhood of the Metallix, Dr. Robotnik, Nack the Weasel and the Chaotix) and comic-only ones (Ebony, Johnny Lightfoot, Porker Lewis, Tekno the Canary, Doctor Zachary and Morain Blackthorn). I really liked the writing, too, and how the writers took each new Sonic game and actually attempted to fit it into their already-established universe. I especially loved the ones that came from Sonic CD and Sonic Adventure.
