Yay! Camps are over; I am done with children for a length of at least several months. If they dare encroach on my months, the children will leave the rest of their lives in a barrel of cod.
Some salmon might be mixed in-- depends on what I can find.
Sadly I am now addicted to Cake.
Also, Snakes on a Plane came out. Err, yay? I think the movie's existance is worth a laugh but this obsession's a bit creepy. I even read a review on imdb that tried to justify it by calling it "A Huge Blow to the Industry".
That's fucking retarded.
The internet has not claimed a victory here by reveling in Hollywood crap. Hollywood merely realized it pays more to sell crap as crap and not as something serious. The fad, the hype,-- the obsession-- is a marketing department's dream. This is not an anti-establishment film; it's quite the opposite-- a film that pandered directly to an audience to make the most money it possibly could.
If we start getting a slew of Snakesesque movies (I don't mean Snakes/Elephants/Antelopes on a Train/Rickshaw/Taxi Cab) that aim for crap and advertise as crap, then the Internet will have to learn to shoulder the immense burden of guilt for the rest of it's existance. In 2106 when audiences have to deal with Bad Movie 3 directed by the Wayans grandchildren, people will look back at Snakes on a Plane as the beginning of a long and slow decay of morality and empathy.
