Failures? I’m a prosecutor. I have many failures. I’ve lost cases, and had killers back on the street. I’ve had killers in jail who were released because of bad evidence or testimony.
My worst failure has nothing to do with work.
My worst failure is my biggest one as a mother, as a friend, as a lover, at least in the past.
Not telling the father of my daughter that she was his. Not letting him know her for the first year of her life, not letting her meet the man who made her what she is.
In doing that, I made a big mistake. I took away the choice from someone I care deeply about, to try and give the choice to someone I love.
Not telling Garret that Amanda was his, it was the hardest thing I’ve ever done, and I thought it was better that way.
I truly wish I hadn’t done it. I mean, what kind of mother does that? Keeps their child and his or her father apart?
