Verizon is pissing me off...
I have had the same reoccuring problem, where I constantly loose internet connection. It happens sporatically during the weekdays, but on the weekends it happens every 5 to 10 minutes. Every time I call customer services, I get someone in India, which would be fine as long as my problem got fixed. Each time they walk me through shutting off my modem, which I have done 90 or so times prior to the call, and when that does not fix the problem, they walk me through resetting the modem, which again I have done previous to the call. After several line tests, and whatnot on their end, they usually want to schedule to have a tech come out between a 12 hour window. But I can't schedule it with them then, because they are in India, and they have to have someone call me from the States, sometime within 24 hours, to schedule it. When I do finally get it scheduled, usually 3 days later, no one ever shows up, instead I get a call that said tech has been to local hub, and thinks he has fixed it. Since it is then the weekday, it seems fixed as I still only get sporatic disconnects, but the disconnects every 5 to 10 minutes return with the weekend.
With the exception of the first time I called, where the online tech told me that she found a problem on their end, every other online tech has assured me that it is not on their end.
After yesterday, where I went the entire day without internet connection, I am finally fed up. Since Verizon cannot offer reliable internet service, I am looking into other internet providers. I hate that I will loose the screen name most know, the one real reason I didn't switch sooner, but the shoddy service is unacceptable, and I cannot even count the number of times I have lost work due to loss of internet connection.
