its a beautiful lie
they always say, when life hands you a lemon make lemonade.
ok, so you get your lemon and you do it. but you don't make just any lemonade. you make the best lemonade you know how. you sqeeze the hell out of that lemon and you spend hours looking at recipes and studying everything there is to do with the art of making lemonade. but you don't leave it at that. you sweeten your lemonade, so that it tastes wonderful, and pour it into one of those fancy glasses with the cool colored stems. you even stick one of those amazing cocktail umbrellas in the top, just to make it the most impressive lemonade you know how to make. then you get all dressed up, put on your best smile, and walk up to life and say, "here you go. i did my best."
and life laughs politely, shakes your hand and says, "thank you for your interest. but we went with the girl with the orange juice."
what do you have then? just a pretty glass of lemonade and a wasted smile.
whoever "they" are that created the lemon fairy tale obviously forgot about the other citrus fruits.
you know what sucks? when you run out of tears. dry sobs feel so much less effective.
