Life in a new town is off and running. We are in a horrid fuss trying to find a suitable abode. We thought we found a good one, however as the viewing was during the day in G-Town we couldn't all go and have a look.
So I draw the short straw and got to go on a "short walk" to have me a bit of a look-see. Turns out my "short walk" was quite the extended walk, which was quite unpleasant, as I had to walk 4 km, in my work shoes, in the sun and into the wind the entire way. 45 minutes later a very red faced and sweaty man arrived at the house. The walk would have been worth it if the house was good. However it was a dump. And the current occupants, who where hanging around, looked like smack addicts.
On slightly brighter and somewhat confusing events, I have just finished my third day at the new job. Considering my dislike of not knowing all(or most) of the answers, I have so far taken a grand sum of 0 (zero) smoke breaks, and it hasn't even seemd a struggle. Assuming things get easier/better as I start to work out what I'm doing, I might be able to finally give the lung lollies up. For an undetermined period of time at least.
Sadly, I do have to get up ealier now than I did when I was in the army, and given that I am still liing in Ballarat, its really bloody cold at that hour. Despite it being quite comfortable during the day.
I have been entertaining myself on the bus by watching Dexter. I have so far found very few holes in the plot, which is always nice, though some of the "surprising" things aren't very surprising. But it keeps me awake at least.
Now I'm counting down the months until my bank balance recovers from the upheaval. Fun times.
