Idina Menzel as Snow Queen
It's time for a little fantasy!
Disney has got another animated fairytale in the works … and some very LOVELY ladies have signed on to provide the voices for the leads.
Based on Hans Christian Andersen’s The Snow Queen (The Little Mermaid was loosely based on this tale as well), the House of Mouse is prepping for their version of the story called Frozen. It's the story of a young girl who takes on a perilous quest to defeat an evil Snow Queen, who has kept her kingdom in the cold for far too long!
The role of the Wicked queen will be voiced by none other than Tony Award winning Idina Menzel, while Kristen Bell has been cast to be the voice of the brave, young Anna.
Disney also has Tony Award winning husband and wife duo Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez writing the musical score! Yes, people. There is a very good possibility we'll be getting some Idina belting in this movie. We know, we're elated too!
Now, film is set to open in November 2013, but the studio is still looking for someone to play the male lead, Kristoff, who helps Anna find her way through the mountains.
