NEW GAME MECHANIC
In interest of padding out our time slot, we are going to up the number of contests. We'll be throwing these contests at whoever our bonus challenge crew can round up on the spot, so they won't be as involved as the full size ones, but that doesn't mean you can give less of a star performance for them.
[[New game system! Introducing Mini Contests.
Players can invent one-off mini-contests involving a small number of characters (as few as one on each team), and execute them at any time. Try to keep to the general theme of Things That Might Happen On A Ridiculous Game Show, but beyond that, you have free reign to make up the content of the contest. Mini-contests are fully capable of forcing people on the same team to compete with each other.
Unlike major contests, mini contests do not yield any points for the victor! No, what’s up for grabs in these is FABULOUS PRIZES. The primary form of these prizes is items you owned in your homeworlds but didn’t get to bring with you - which is good, because the post office is being shut down! If your character is out of notable possessions, or you don’t want them to get any more, they can also win more traditional prizes, such as a new gas-powered blender, or 24 free massages.
A single character cannot earn more than one prize per week. Mini-contests can be logged out on LJ or in IM format (with the logs posted), or played off-screen, at the players’ discretion.]]
