Oh, how even the silliest of conversations can grow to... well, something even sillier. Tidale waited at the park, pacing around, impatient with the "ape girl". He would sometimes pull

Here comes Nerine, late on the scene, obviously in a rush.

"I'm not late!" she insists before Tidale can say anything.

... and then she trips over something, landing face first.

"... ... ow..."

"... Weell, I think I know how this will turn out," Tidale commented, just looking at Nerine in pure awe. She just stepped in and tripped, landing face-flat. What a way to make an impression. But that's no matter. She probably wasn't as clumsy a spellcaster as she was a person. "Wanna call it quits now? You might hurt yourself again, uhh... Nerrrine, was it?"

She pulls herself back to her feet.

"No way! I... I might be a little clumsy, but that has nothing to do with my magic!"

"Talking doesn't do much, y'knoooow?" The time was far into the evening, the park was already fairly dark, but a greater darkness started seeping into the area. This darkness moved in closer to the termite, but while he would normally be intimidated by this, he had a surprising level of composure. As it surrounded the bug, Tidale made a smug grin that looked as if he was telling Nerine that he had already won. It surrounded Tidale and with a flash of light, a barrier of darkness surrounded him. Above the barrier, an image of an evil raven looked down at Nerine, eyeing its prey. "Guahyahahahah... You're the first in this world to witness the Black Fog," Tidale announced, "This is.. the beginning of my magic show, hehehe~"

"That's nothing."

Nerine holds out a hand, an orb of pure magical energy starting to form... it's already rather powerful within only seconds of charging.

"Hmhmhm.. The Black Fog feeds on the earth and its people's life energy. It grows constantly and eats whatever it touches... Don't think you're safe from this!" Tidale yelled, pointing at Nerine. One of the raven's wings came down at Nerine. The raven itself was immaterial and made of the Black Fog that Tidale summoned. If its wings made contact, there would be no physical pain inflicted, however... It would attack one's life force directly.

"You didn't say anything about attacking each other!"

However, that wasn't going to stop Nerine. She's throwing a blast at the raven in retaliation... powerful enough to level a small house.

"I don't quite see how we'll prove who's the better person otherwise!" Tidale exclaimed. The raven made no effort to move out of the way. It stood there, still smiling even as its face was hit by a ball of pure magical energy. The Black Fog that formed it instantly dispersed, spreading into different directions. Just for that to have happened required much energy which Nerine proved to have. Even Tidale's cocky grin twitched a little. ... The raven, however, was reformed by the Black Fog. Its wing still came down at Nerine, albeit having been stopped to regenerate. "... huh... That wasn't... bad... but it's my turn, guahyahahah~"

"What, you want me to blast you, then?!" Nerine shouted as she threw another ridiculous magic blast at the raven, though falling back just in time to avoid the wing.

Once again, the raven was hit... But the result was exactly the same. The Black Fog dispersed, but reformed soon enough. "Jeez, do I WANT to be blasted? It's not like it'll happen, but it's.. not really something you even NEED to ask!" yelled Tidale. The raven brought its wings closer to its full body. Black Fog gathered between the wings and started forming an energy ball similar to Nerine's.

"Fine! Don't say I didn't warn you!"

She'll throw another blast of energy at the raven, before throwing out her other hand and sending a second one flying at Tidale.

As the blast hit the raven, the same thing happened. ... However... It seemed that Nerine picked a different target this time. Tidale almost let out a shriek. The blast successfully hit the barrier that surrounded Tidale. Its color became a little more faint indicating that there was damage. "... That was... close..." gasped Tidale, chewing his fingernails. The raven, while being interrupted for a moment, finished creating its energy ball and sent it flying at Nerine. It... floated over to her slowly. At least, it certainly flew slower than the energy balls Nerine sent at the raven. Around the center of the distance between Tidale and Nerine, the energy ball exploded, releasing a miniature tornado of Black Fog in the park.

"..."

Well, Nerine didn't move to get out of the way. Because even if it moved slow... if she ran, she might end up tripping. At the least, it gave her time to throw up a suitable barrier. Her hair whipped around her as the tornado bashed against her shield.

"You're on the defensive? Then I'll go on the offensive!" Tidale announced, cackling with glee. The raven summoned more condensed Black Fog in its wings. This time, it left no time to charge and simply rapid-fired at Nerine. At this point, Tidale was confident at his victory. He watched his onslaught with tightly gripped fists.

For some reason, the shield was getting stronger rather than weaker... she was gathering up her next strike into her shield.

"Take this!" she shouted.

The shield suddenly erupted into a huge blast, flying towards Tidale again.

"I call cheating!!" yelled Tidale in shock. This was unexpected... So the shield was simply a part of her next attack. Clever of her, using something like that. It was clear that "offense was the best defense". The raven's wings moved in to provide a shield for the termite, but all it did was possibly slow down the huge blast by a little. Nevertheless, despite its efforts, Tidale's shield was hit and suffered more than just a little damage. This wasn't turning out as Tidale had hoped. ... still... Nerine's shield was gone, wasn't it? ... however... Tidale also had a trick up his sleeve.

Three crows holding swords and shields appeared in the battlefield. They swung down their sword at Nerine immediately when her defenses were lowered.
