Hello from work
Shit! I need to update this thing more often. Spending a lot more time just driving and chillin by my lonesome these days. Work and rehearsal stay the usual. Our last gig for a lil bit was this passed weekend in Baton Rouge. We played with No Fuego again, and these cats from L.A. called Suicide Holiday. Another one of that kind of opener where you essentially play in front of the other bands, thier friends, and girlfriends. A few people we all knew were there as well and jammed out. Always fun stuff. Suicide Holiday fuckin rocked it. All tracks were on point and then they broke out a cover of Fugazi's "Waiting Room" for which I fuckin went off. I'm definatly lookin forward to seeing these guys (and gal) again soon. No Fuego closed and put on a damn good performance themselves. We had all schemed before all sets were done that one member from each band would get on stage and have a beer chuggin contest...we never really decided the stakes for the winner so matt just mooned the audience for losing. I would have gone up there to chug but I was shitty drunk and probably would have hurled. We've got some great video from the passed four shows that need to be put together and Chill's friend from OffBeat Magazine came and did some photos for us. We just need to finish our demo's and ship the hole package off as a presskit for Moe to show the rest of the people at Ruff&Tuff for our deal.
Kickin my third week in Des Allemands. It's not too bad if you really don't feel like being around anybody which can sometimes be a good thing. Out of the three weeks I can maybe only count less than 5 days my room mate has actually slept there which basically means I've had the place to myself. Our neighbor has a wireless set up so I've been leeching internet from them. No cable, and I'm running out of movies to watch. I love my damn bed though. Living at home, all I had was a twin pushed against a wall. I slept like shit for months. I'll still be keeping an eye on a "closer to metro" middle of the road living arrangment. This is kinda more out of the way than I originally percieved it to be. The last two weeks were kinda hard on me finacially because of the stuff I got for the bed, contacts, and all the bills I payed with my last check. Literally had me down to a dollar and some cents untill payday today. So I get to check out some cash for rent with this check and see what my billing cycle is gonna be for my electricity. Right after the move is usually the hardest time with money but it'll all settle down soon. I think I did a good job handling the stress. Normally I'd be jumping off walls with worry.
Anyways, heres an early happy mothers day to all you mommy's out there!!
