Dana Rae Parker shows a collection of unapologetic, honest, and mostly celebratory images of home, community, and self captured with an assortment of SLR and disposable cameras over the course of one year.
Sicilian by blood and Southern by birth, Dana Rae made the move to Portland in August of 2007. Raised on the Mississippi Gulf Coast amidst dozens of cousins and even more family photo albums, Dana Rae believes in the magic of memories and the power a vibrant, provocative image has to stir things up, pose questions, and bring people together.
In addition to photography Dana Rae has contributed to a variety of projects relating to self-care, queer identity and politics, accessibility, and fat positivity, and is now gearing up to embark on a solo music project.
