Intro + Icon Post!

My name is Susanna. I'm 23 years old and live in a small country called Estonia in North-East Europe. But my entire childhood was in Sweden, so I've grown up watching all disney movies in the Swedish language.
So who's my favourite disney princess? It has always been Cinderella for me. In a lot of unexplained ways, I kinda see myself in her. Second would be Snow White and then Aurora. Yep, I prefer the classics. The later/modern princesses don't really do it for me.. I don't know why.
I spent all my summer holidays at my grandparents' countryside in Estonia where I had to do lots of farmwork. So every time I was cleaning or something, I imagined I was the hard-working Cinderella, lol. And every time I washed the floor, I sang "Oh sing sweet nightingale..." (in Swedish, of course). :D
I guess it's just the way she carries herself that I like - from her outer appearance (I resemble her physically.. except my hair is brown) to her personality, and a number of other factors that won my heart over as a child, like:
- Her iconic white-silverish & luminous ballgown
- The strawberry blonde hair, blue eyes & the smile
- Glass slippers.. who wouldn't want a pair?
- The headscarf
- Her subtle sarcasm
- Her singing voice sounds like Judy Garland
- She's an animal-lover
- Doesn't give up
- Gentle, kind & strong
- She's a romantic dreamer
- The dreamy artwork of the movie
- The songs
- Cinderella's house
As for Snow White, I like how dark the (real) fairy-tale actually is and the "skin as white as snow, lips red as blood and hair black as ebony" thing. The Swedish voice of Snow White sounds amazingly beautiful and very different from the original English.. plus I really love the songs in the movie. Walt Disney himself actually said that his favourite Snow White was the Swedish one. :)
And Aurora.. well, I know she doesn't really do much in the movie, but I just like her style. Not the royal gown but the peasant dress she's wearing in the beginning of the movie (I wish I had an outfit like that), and the hair with the black headband. I also like the songs and the movie's unique visual medieval art.
This is unrelated to disney but I have to say that if Anastasia was a disney princess, she would totally be my top favourite. I wish.. ;_;
