House and Trance are fun to dance to
mEDM ( = Mac Electronic Dance Music) is having an event downtown this weekend. A couple of my friends were pretty excited about it, so I said I would go. One of said friends handed me one of the little event flyer-card dealies, and I looked it over. In fact... this is exactly what it looked like:
kinda small, I know, but whatever
I must admit, I felt rather... uninformed.
"This is a pretty terrible flyer; it doesn't even say what genre of music they're playing"
"Dude, the group is called Mac Electronic Dance Music"
"Umm... 'Electronic Dance Music' could mean a hundred different things"
"Well, they're be playing like, House and Trance and stuff"
House and Trance, eh? Sounds like it's gonna be a pretty bangin' night >.>
Call me a snob or whatever, but I find i kind of difficult to let loose and rock out to such slow music, especially since the last rave/party/whatever I went to was a shameless Happy Hardcore party. But meh, I'll give it a chance. I've already got at least a couple friends going. Maybe I won't hate a House/Trance party if I got some other folks to keep it interesting.
Under closer inspection, there is a Breaks/DnB party the night before, and I'll probably end up going to that too if anyone will attend with me. Only problem is I think it'll make the House/Trance party that much more boring on the following night XD

As an aside, Camp Feral is unusually late this year, going from Aug. 29 to Sept. 2. This is both good and bad. Later means it'll probably be easier for me to sneak out of work early and actually attend the camp. THe problem is that it is in fact so late, that it creeps into Frosh Week. I absolutely cannot miss Clubsfest because I need to be at the table for what will hopefully be renamed the McMaster Gaming Association. I'm thinking that if I drive to Feral, I can duck out a day early if I have to. If I take anyone with me then well... maybe they'll have to duck out early too, or they can pay the bus fee and take the camp bus home. I've been wanting to go to Camp Feral for a couple years now, and now that I know a lot more furries, I think it would be a lot more fun.
It's pretty funny, I remember talking to my mom about going to this [non-descript summer camp] back before she knew about the whole furry thing. She musta knew something was up, because she knew I would need a pretty good reason to want to go camping (e.g. WEMF). All she had to go on was that the camp was called "Feral". She didn't know about "furry", so she came to the logical conclusion that it was some sort of therian summer camp XD
So will I be going? Probably :3
