pretend it's like a video game

Today, my roommate and I decided that in order to motivate oneself to do school assignments, pretend that your assignments are like achievements in XBLA.
*hands in lab write up* "Dude! I just got 5 more G today!"
seriously though, I keep a big checklist of every assignment and test I have this semester, and it is very satisfying to check something off once it's completed. It's also fun to keep track of total semester completion in my LJ, although it is kinda scary that I'm a month in and I've only completed 6.27% of the semester's weight. On the other hand, it's nice that I have lots of tiny assignments as opposed to a few large tests this term, since I get to check things off/increase my completion percentage more often.
I found a ton of great resources for my insects paper. I'm kinda surprised that there's an entire scientific journal devoted purely to bee science --> www.apidologie.org. I only have 150 words so far, but I have a whole Metroid Prime game's worth of questionably interesting text in my brain that's just waiting to be transformed into .docx format
