Awesome friggin' day today!
Even though I hadn't studied the entire tour, I gave my own tours today! My "tester tour" was with another Niagara Parks employee, and her friend, who happened to be a former supervisor of mine from when I worked at the Hershey Store. My second group was a school group of ~25 elementary students. Some of them were little fuckers, but the chaperones helped me keep them under control; some of them were also very nice and eager to learn, but really, it's hard to keep kids interested when they're excited about the white water boat ride they're gonna go on afterwards. After that I had a regular group of ~10 adults, mostly from the States and a couple from Wales. I performed the tours myself, but I always had another guide there to help me along or fill in any details that I forgot.
I'm also excited because tomorrow instead of work I have a training course. It's called Art and Culture but I think it has to do with customer service. Yeah, I know it sounds kind of boring but hey! They're paying ME to learn! I also have another training course on Saturday about the Niagara Parks attractions. I know that at some point I also get a bunch of free tickets for me and my guests to go on Niagara Parks attractions.
And best of all, I got an email of acceptance for the Peer Mentoring in Biology program! I'm gonna be a TA =D. First year biology used to be called "Ecology, Evolution and Biodiversity" but they took out the Biodiversity portion >.< (I'm specializing in Biodiversity btw) but I've noticed that they're putting more biodiversity in elementary/high school education. My brothers (in grade 6) did a unit on arthropod diversity, and my sister showed me her high school course selection sheet, and they're offering a whole course on the diversity of life, and another course on environmental issues. I wish they had those courses when I was in high school!
Oh, and AC is in less than a month =D
Let's hope I get a paycheque or two before that happens ^^;
bye bye my lovelies <3
