hazydecay It was 14 normal steps from the small galley to the cockpit doors; Spencer knew because he had counted them as the other paced. From the cabin to the galley and back again,it took Hotch 84 seconds, and at that rate, the older agent will have made 107 circuits by the time they land. The papers in the other's left hand were re-read again every 7 circuits, meaning approximately 15 re-reads by the time they landed.
Spencer took comfort in simple numbers, but watching Hotch suffering still hurt. Spencer shifted and held out his arm, watching Hotch pause to look at him and Spencer knew he needed to speak; even his limited social skills told him that.
"Please Hotch..." Spencer watched the internal debate as Hotch watched him dark eyes intense, the look taking 168 seconds, with Spencer's heart clenching before Hotch sat. Spencer sighed in relief and pressed close to the other man, speaking again. "It will be alright, we have a very high success rate, and this is something we have seen before." Hotch didn't speak; he just sighed softly, curling his arm around Spencer's waist, as Spencer began counting off Hotch's steady heartbeats under his cheek.
