First...I did manage to get my sunglasses back. My head no longer feels nekkid :-)
My son's highschool puts on a Madrigal dinner every year. The school is renowned in our area for having one of the best productions. As a fundraiser, the band boosters operate a coat check for those in attendance. I volunteered to work in on Thursday and Sunday nights. It was more fun than I expected. As the attendees arrive, we gave them numbers and took their coats. After all the people had arrived and surrendered their outer garments, we waited...talked, read, etc. Then we had to traverse to the kitchen area where we helped serve one of the courses of the dinner. After completing this task, we went back to our "spot" where we waited for the dinner to end so that coats could be reunited with their owners. While we waited...more talking...and eating. Last night a lady brought tortellini soup...OMG...this stuff was so good...and perfect for a blustery evening. When the dinner ended, we handed the coats back...and went home.
Friday night I attended a gathering of some of my closest friends. We ate, drank, and were merry. I laughed so damned hard I had to leave the room to regain my composure…twice. We had drawn names for a gift exchange and I received the 7th season DVD set of Gilmore Girls...YAY.
Saturday night, my son and I attended another, more tame, holiday party. I only knew the hostess...but had a good time anyway. My son, who is never shy, enjoyed himself as well...
During the daytime hours of my weekend I didn't get much accomplished because I have started this vampire series by J.R. Ward and I was completely hooked. I made it through 2 1/2 paperbacks this weekend...all cuddled up in my bed.
Old Man Winter has decided that he wants to join the party...so he through himself a welcoming party. It wasn't as raucous as some of the other parties that he has thrown himself...it still caused a few difficulties this morning...
That about does it. Thinking about going Christmas shopping either tonight or tomorrow night.
