After 16 hours of tests, mostly on my eyes, I am now medically qualified to go to Pilot Training. I am so relieved because I was nervous about all of the eye tests because they are pretty strict if you got eye surgery. I had to stay an extra day just so they could poke and prod me more. Other than the medical stuff, San Antonio was awesome! Wednesday night I went out with the other LT's and Capt's that were getting their medical flight screening with me. We went to the River Walk and ate some mexican food and then went to a few bars. The river walk is sweet. It is right in downtown San Antonio where they channeled a river and there are a bunch of bars and clubs and all kinds of stuff all up and down it. The first bar we went to was a dueling piano place and we were definitely the youngest people in there. After a while there, we went to a 3-story club that overlooked the river. We spent most of the night on the balcony talking to 2 of the girls that worked there. I got home about 2am and then had to get up at 5:45am for my second day of eye tests. That was hell. After I passed that, I went out with some other LT's that I met that day. We went and ate some more mexican food and then went to Coyote Ugly's. We spent a little while there and then went to some hole in the wall place so we could play some pool. It turned out to be a really good time there playing pool and darts. One of the guys I was with decided to get behind the bar and start pouring drinks for us, but when he dropped a bottle, that ended really fast. After that, we went to a club. It was $7 admission but all drinks were only $1 all night, so we got torn. The next day I went to the airport to catch my flight. The flight was overbooked, so I volunteered to give up my seat for a $200 ticket voucher and a first class flight back to Sacramento later that night. I never want to travel coach again. First class was awesome. They treat the wealthy so much better. I was eating shrimp, always had a full glass, and even got a hot towel. I didn't think they really did that. I had to look around and see what other people were doing with it because I had no idea what it was for. The chairs were also really comfortable and there was much more space. We watched Friday Night Lights, which I didn't really like. Finally got home around midnight and just crashed. I was so tired since I only got about 12 hours of sleep the 3 days I was in Texas. I am not sure what I am doing today. I am probably gonna call my flight instructor and see if he wants to fly. I will post some Texas pics on my website. Later.
