Well, what has happened since my last entry.... I am basically all settled in my apartment now. I was pretty lucky and got a bunch of furniture for cheap from some lady that was moving out of the place next to me. The stuff is pretty nice actually. This weekend was a good time. I got a hold of a girl I hadn't talked to in 10 years and we hung out. I went and ate dinner at her parent's house and then we went to the bar with her sisters. There was a sweet blues band playing there and we definitely drank like soldiers. We were buying shots like crazy. After that, we went back and hung out at her place. It was pretty crazy because it didn't seem like it was 10 years since we had seen each other. I feel old now. We made plans to do all the fun stuff there is to do in Northern Cali before I leave in August. Speaking of that, I found out that my pilot training will be at Laughlin AFB in Del Rio, TX. I have to report there on August 31st and my classes start on September 16th. So between now and then, I will be getting my private pilot license here and then just doing odd jobs that my squadron needs me to do. It isn't called "casual status" for nothing. I am getting transfered into a KC-10 squadron tomorrow. They figured it would be better for me to get a taste of the Ops side of the Air Force instead of sitting behind a desk in a building with senior officers all day. After I get my private pilot license, I will be able to go on Missions once a month. I can either go on a KC-10 or C-5 mission. A KC-10 is an air re-fueler and a C-5 is a huge transport. I am even allowed to go on a C-5 mission to Hawaii, Guam, Japan, and back. That would be a great experience. I am not allowed to go into anywhere hostile yet though. Let's see, what else... The weather is starting to get a little better here. It was in the low 60's and sunny this weekend. Hopefully it continues. I think I will probably go to San Francisco this weekend and take that Alcatraz tour. We'll see, it depends on the weather. Well I gotta get to sleep. Gotta get up early and hopefully go flying tomorrow. Night. Oh, check out this website:
