As some of you might know, my own beloved brother was here a bit ago to help celebrate the twenty-first anniversary of my birth. Among the array of fabulous presents that he gave to me was a copy of World of Warcraft and an addiction thereto. Now, I started to notice that it had some effect on my homework, I.E. I wanted to play WoW instead of doing schoolwork. So I started thinking to myself, what could I do to change that? Play less WoW? But that option did not please me. On Friday my literature teacher announced that we had a paper to write, and so I snagged him after class and suggested to him that my paper should be about Tolkien’s influence in modern gaming, namely WoW. To which he replied enthusiastically that it was a wonderful idea and he was looking forward to reading it. So, to make a long story short, my homework this week is to read some Tolkien, Play some WoW, read some more Tolkien, play some more WoW, and then write about it.
