Well, ape business ;)
Acquired: 1 ape suit! Oh, c'mon. Like it's only good for Halloween, sheesh.
Acquired: more candy than you can shake a stick at.
Results: Lurked on porch from 6-8. Acted like an ape upon spotting innocent victims wee children and their parents. Apparently ape suits generate plenty of curiosity right up till they're about 4' away. Then the tykes freeze and won't come any closer even with the parents telling them it's okay. So off comes the mask and suddenly their faces light up, they get it, and they're happy to come and grab free loot. This was pretty much the standard formula for the night :)
Exceptions: made one poor little bugger cry. I'm evil, but not *that* evil. If I were I would have gone with the blood-drenched demonic clown option. I *will* admit that I was pleased when a couple of punk-ass pre-teens bolted when I went *OOK* and charged at them, heh. It's all good, they came back and got candy.
In other news, things are still going well. Work plows on. Checks come in. Bills are getting paid. In about 4 days I'll be *ahead* for the first time in ages. In another couple of weeks the first cash injection towards the upcoming car comes in. If all goes well, that will coincide with the next invoice payment and voila...wheels. If not, then voila, secured credit card so I can a) start rebuilding my crapped out credit and b) rent a car for an upcoming visit. Just gotta hope the timing works out :)
Other than that, I've checked out 2 of the 3 local watering holes. Odds are good I'll go back. One's just yer standard blue-collar bar. The other is much the same but with a metal/live music twist at the downstairs level. Apparently Friday's is *ahem* industrial night. This remains to be seen :)
On the movie front, I wasted admission on 30 Days of Minutes, erm Night. Pacing problems, indeed. Generally weak. On the other hand, there were a couple of good kills and I enjoyed the novel representation of vampires. Well, except for the horribly annoying fake language that is. Ugh. No erudite critique to be found here, just a mild fuss in horribly annoying bad grammar. Luckily for me, the movie ticket was less than $6. Perhaps tomorrow night I'll go cleanse my movie palate with Saw IV.
