Something amusing from work today:
I spotted two visitors, a woman and her son, struggling with one of the exhibits (it was having a stubborn, cranky day of refusing to co-operate... stupid computers) so I walked over to lend a hand. After a minute of showing the visitors Giza, Annapolis, Baltimore, and pointing out sundry other neat images, the kid (who appeared to be about 10-12) suddenly pulled a new topic out of thin air:
Kid: "Who do you support?"
Me: "?" (Yes, it is possible to say that! At least for me... )
Kid: "You know, which city do you support?"
Me: (Guessing he wants to know where I am from) "Uh, well, I'm from Boston..."
Woman: "He means, what team do you support?"
Me: "Oh!" (Scans kid, notes the dreaded NYY symbol on the hat he is wearing) "Well, I'm from Boston originally. Should be easy to deduce from there."
Kid: "Grrr!" (Really!)
Me: *blink, blink* *shrug* "So where else do you want to see?"
Kid: *zips off to another display*
Woman: *smiles apologetically, follows*
Odd, hmm?
