Recent Paint Jobs

No, it's not an April Fool's joke. This is what I've been working on recently - egads, I've been really painting up a storm these last few months!

First, the batches of miniatures for an awesome but out-of-print game called Moondragon.
First the front...

...then the sides.

This is a set of lunar fighters I have painted or re-painted for the game. The really crazy part is that I have six more identical fighters, since the game's innovative movement system requires *two* fighter models. I'm particularly proud of the fellow in the middle - can you see the shark-teeth and eyes around the cockpit? These six are from the "Government" side - the folks that the other people on the moon are revolting against.
And here they are!

The one in the back left does not have a matching fighter, but all the others do. The black/blue/green one is 'my' fighter - the one I tend to play when I get the chance. If you look carefully, you might spot the red target renticles that are painted on it's wings and nose... For some reason, people like to chase me. The red and yellow one is the only one that did not undergo a serious redo job, and still looks the same as when I first painted it...gosh, was it really fifteen years ago? Eeep!
Now, for the much bigger & badder job: Dafhyerminitar the Sapphire Dragon.

Once an AD&D 2nd Ed. Gold Dragon, he was carefully repainted following the new 3.5 Monster Manual II description of Sapphire Dragons. I added a few minor details, and the results are quite pleasing. The players are not gonna be happy if the try to fight this 700+ hit point bad boy... yes, he's an NPC in the ongoing adventures in Faerun.
I've spent the past two and a half weeks on all these. I am pleased with most of the results... and I still have five more minis to paint before I can declare this batch finished. Then I can rest a bit and prepare for the next batch of about 30 or so. Including a miniature of one Drizzt Do'Urden. That will be a fun challenge...
