Butterflies come and go,
Rain falls, as does snow,
Seasons change and clouds go by,
As birds ascend into the sky,
The years go by, day-by-day,
But our love remains and stays.

People come and people leave,
Coughing, laughing into their sleeve,
They don't know, don't understand,
How our lives could be so grand,

Leaves change colour: red and yellow, green,
Nature's born again -or so it seems,
Animals mate, creating new young,
Seasons around, they have been brung,
The years go by, day-by-day,
And still our love remains, it stays.

Your arms around me, hold me tight,
Please hold me close throughout the night,
Keep my close and stay with me,
This is my one and only plea,
As the years go by one day at a time,
I know our love will forever shine.
