In an alleged "return to the old days", Whitby Goth Weekend had shifted from three bands a night to five. The openers, Dutch Order, were reminiscent of Joy Division, while the considerably heavier Black Moth were closer to a female-fronted Black Sabbath. Dr Arthur Krause were a trad goth-rock band in the Sisters of Mercy mould. Fuzzbox were Fuzzbox - zany, fun, and very enjoyable. And headlining were Red Lorry Yellow Lorry.
