Wow three totally random and unrelated things to talk about...

The other day I sat and reread a journal entry (in my non-internet journal) that I wrote one year ago. It was astounding to see how much change can happen in a year - I may not have accomplished everything anything that I did want to do, I find myself at least striding towards my goals. I feel I've effected so much change in my own life and way of thinking; so much more so than I gave myself credit for being able to achieve.

On a weird note: Three nights in a row I predicted specific Mets plays that if not won the game, at least gave them a chance to win. I off-handedly said that Shawn Green would hit a home run. And he did, just a few innings later to hit a walk off home run to win the game in the 11th inning. The next day, I said that Green would get a single and then Valentine would get a triple to get Shawn home (and tie the game in the bottom of the 9th). Shawn got the single and Valetine hit a double, but advanced to third on a wild throw. Finally the next night, while at the game I called Wright's homerun (the game winner).

On another totally random tangent: I've been watching the K-drama Palace (Goong in Korean). I really liked it - it really surprized me in several areas, probably cause i'm used to shoujo stereotypes. There isn't a clear cut "you should go for this guy" during the whole show. I found myself rooting for different guys at different points. The comedy is pretty well done, especially between the main characters (the "sleep with each other night" ep was totally hilarious). Plus, looking back the main girl cries a lot - but somehow still ends up being a strong character. You don't think of her as the 'weepy girl' who most shoujo girls end up being (you know the kind you want to beat until they stop crying and actually do something?). Plus each ep is about 70-75 minutes long, and keeps you entertained for the whole time. I was always surprized at how much can happen in one episode.
I definately enjoy it and recommend it - although don't buy the english DVDs. They are $130 and a total rip-off. A more in depth analysis coming soon, with spoilers and small rants about handling of the ending and Emo-fest.

lookback, mets, reflection, goong
