Wow.
Man, Trans-Siberian Orchestra knows how to put on a concert! Two and a half hours STRAIGHT of music - usually with one song leading right into the next. No intermission, hardly any breaks for the band ... I really don't know how they do it. They must have been sweating their suits off (oh yeah, they did this all in three piece suits too).
First "half" was their entire "The Lost Christmas Eve" CD - complete with narration of the story it tells between songs. The second "half" was them rocking out to the rest of their songs.
The show had a completely AWESOME light show. Now I know where that guy got the idea to time his Christmas lights to "Wizards of Winter" - he took it directly from the source! But seriously, they must take just as much time coming up with the lighting for this show, as much as they take writing the songs. Lots of variation, moving ceiling lights (they had like 10 different sections of lights on silver pole sections that was lowered or tilted depending on the song - one song they had the lights doing a wave!), even electric lights on the lead violinist's electric violin at points!
I had music blasting in my ears, lights flashing in my eyes, snow falling on my head (three separate times), huge pyrotechnic flames sorching my face (in two colors!), fireworks exploding overhead ... it was so freaking fun! When do we do it all again? ^_^
