I just ordered my camera. ^_^

After way too much time deliberating, and boring tons of friends and family with "what camera should I get?" convos, I finally picked out a camera. It's ordered. It's getting here on Monday. Conviently, thanks to a trail of Amazon Prime, I shall also receive my lens and memory card on Monday.

You will not be hearing from me for awhile once this arrives at my house.

While trying to find a good lense, I ended up digging up my film camera from college. I found 8 rolls of unshot film, and two rolls of unprocessed (but already shot) film. Hell, you might not see me much starting now.

With so much film to develop and me using all my $ to get my DSLR, I think I've found that reason to get the chemicals to develop film in my home. It would cost me less than $50 to get enough chemicals to last me for my next 200+ rolls of film. I would just need to go to B&H to get one chemical that, by law, they cannot ship. The rest I can buy online.

Hooray rebirth of photography in my life!

I felt completely sad that I literally had to dust off my camera before poking it a bit. I realized I still have film loaded in it - God knows what's on it. Hell, I hardly know what's on the several rolls of film I need to have developed! But that's half the fun - probably why I'm going to be keeping my film camera around. I love the mystery of it. The most exciting part of photography was the few seconds before you pulled your negs out of the drier -I would be buzzing with anticipation. It's that moment when you realize that one shot came out perfect, but those other shots you took just to waste film? - they're even better!

I need to pull out my old negs - I know I had tons of blackmail photos I never got to scan and/or print. A neg scanner may become my next Big Wish.
