so the telephone company is tearing up my yard to put in fiber optic cable and another ugly box. i am not pleased.

with the way my mortgage company works and property taxes for living on the corner it'll be about half a million when it's paid off. not worth a quarter in michigan's market, but that's how much i'll end up paying.

what's going on is they are putting in fiber optic cable instead of the metal cable. it allows for faster transfer rates of more data. they need different equipment to handle the new cable so they are putting in a new box for the neighborhood next to the old box which happens to be in my front yard, technically the city's property because it's past the side walk, but i'm responsible for mowing it and it's upkeep, which means if it's a big muddy hole and the blight committee wants to fine me for being unsightly they can, and if they do i'm suing the phone company. what are the chances of that happening you ask. well i have to have a rental inspection in a couple of weeks so if they don't clean up their act the chances are pretty good. thus you see why i am not pleased.
