Actually, same here! It's like, I adore Chekov, but how to write him? Do I spell out his accent? Do not? I love them both yet they're the hardest to write.

Thoughts, in backwards order with biological reactions (though I loved it ALL):
1. Protective Scotty is awesome and he threatens McCoy = heart flutter
2. I have to admit that the scene of everyone wanting to donate blood = tears in my eyes, just a little
3. You mentioned Gaila too and how Scotty doesn't think she is that bad, just a little green = laughter
