Wow, this is one of your most powerful sections yet-- well worth the wait!

(And I'm glad you're feeling better!)

I'm glad you thought it was worth it. Especially after 2 weeks? I'm grateful someone is still reading this! -lol-

I do feel better, well, at least enough to dare venture out my kitchen and realize it stayed clean because hubby never cooked. -head to desk-

Thank you so much for pulling yourself to the keyboard and soldiering on. This chapter was heart-breaking. But seriously, do take it easy.

Ah, this is when mommy pulls out her secret weapon: my mommy. -lol- If hubby thought I was a health nut before, wait until she arrives tonight!

I think the delay was killing me as well because all week, all I could think about was our Jack was waiting for our Ianto inside my journal all that time. -quivering lower lip-

Gah! That was harrowing.

I've rarely seen the dark side of immortality addressed so poignantly. Your descriptions of eternal loneliness is devastatingly effective. (I'm completely turned off living forever :)

They always said season one was darker b/c they needed to deal with Jack and his immortality issue, but personally, it never felt like they really dwelled on it. I adore Owen and Tosh and I tolerate Gwen -snicker- but I was going "Geez" with all of their centric episodes. -lol-

Couldn't agree with you more. They keep throwing horrifying experiences at Jack (immortality, the Valiant, buried alive for millennia) and yet nothing sticks. No consequences explored. Tosh and Owen are great supporting characters but Gwen bores me to tears. I didn't resent her until I realized that she gobbles up screen time at the expense of more interesting character development. sigh. Is my bitterness showing?

You? Bitter? Noooo. -snicker- But then again what Jack fan isn't, right? I was bitter that I nearly skipped past Random Shoes and Combat because -meh- not interested. But they luckily make filler chaperes for me to progress our boys. What? There was no Gwen in Random Shoes chapter. My, my, I must have goofed somewhere. -wink-
