college
oh how i love this place already. ive only been here 3 days and it feels like its been weeks.
saturday i moved in at 8 am and my roommate showed up like 5 minutes after i did. however, the rest of the building must like their sleep, cuz i finished unpacking by 10 and nobody but us 2 were in the building. from there i went to denton, the honors dorm, to see whos around cuz i dont know many scholars kids. plus, at the time there was nobody in my building. so i helped fichman move in and watched his parents try every different way you could try to fit the furniture in the room. all i can say is that im surprised he didnt kill them, cuz i wouldve killed mine. oh yea, the rents left at 10 which was nice cuz they didnt stick around like i thought they might. but anyway, after that the day was spent with rhhs kids. lunch in the dining hall was ok, although i may get sick of it after awhile. i even had a salad. i think the rest of the day involved alot of painful walking. at night, we watched the family guy movie which i thought was funny even though some people said it wasnt as good.
this whole school is like HoCo children, and alot of MoCo, but we dont discuss them as much.
sunday was spent with molly and other random assortments of ppl. it was a more relaxed and chill day after the craziness of everyone moving in and floor meetings. we went to Ikea for lunch, who knew they had food there. apparently everyone but me, but thats beside the point. then there was more walking maybe. this campus is huge, im gonna be doing so much walking around here its sick. anyone that gains the freshman 15 here must take a golfcart to class or something, because i burn off my breakfast on the way to history which isnt even on the other side of campus. i think the night was spent chilling with victor and sara and her roomie after molly got sick and went to bed.
monday morning sucked, theres no better way to describe waking up 4 hours after uve gone to sleep to go do community service. and its a freaking good thing i set an alarm, because i ended up having to wake our RA at 715 when she was supposed to be waking us up at 7. our group drove an hour to little patuxent park. then they show us this old blacksmith building which had all this junk and tools. some people painted it. unfortunately, a few others and i had to take everything out of the building, inventory it by counting how many of each thing there were, then stick it all back in even neater than before. this sucked, there were like 5 types of hammers, and 5 of each kind and such. 305 horseshoes! i feel sry for the guy that had to count that. then random things that just looked like junk that apparently had some purpose. watever.
eventually we got back, like 4 o clock i think. afte showering i went down to la plata beach where i met sara and found molly playing frisbee. there was icecream and music goodness so that lasted awhile. at 9 we went to stamp where we saw this psychic do all this weird stuff. at the end, she took a picture of this girl that had a dead grandmother. in the poloroid picture, there was the face of her grandmother in the background. now thats some freaky shit. stamp was supposed to have a casino thing, but it lied cuz there def was no casino thing which was upsetting.
today we have new student orientation in comcast? whatever, itll be a waste of my time. classes start tomorrow, i think im looking forward to that. although my first class ever here is history. i think thats a bad sign.
ps. there is no air conditioning in my bloody building. la plata has air conditioning and sara lives there, so i live in her room often. but it angers all us children in denton and ellicott and ctown when la plata kids complain that their toes are cold, or the fact that they had to find extra blankets in their closet cuz it was so COLD last night. DO YOU KNOW WHAT MY ROOM WAS LIKE?! its so freaking hot and humid the walls are sweating. it was so hot even with a huge boxfan blowing directly on me. so there will be no complaining about cold anymore u la plata children, or i will cut ur freaking COLD toes off. have a nice day =)
