.. my laptop has installed
Ubuntu 7.10 - and it flies compared to the 7.04 "upgrade" that I did a couple days ago.
The upgrade seemed to go flawlessly, but I noticed that the machine just kept getting slower and slower. The final straw came when I tried to set up my internal modem for a job, and it was brought to its knees...
So, I decided to install from scratch (thank God for external IDE hard drives) - a quick backup of my school files and music, and a bit of waiting - or playing
The Specialists on
Steam - and we're up and running.
I'm still installing some of the additional software that I use on a daily basis, but I've got most of the drivers, e-mail, my web and java development environments, web server and multimedia support installed. And I think it's time for bed!
