At some point, earlier this week D and I went snorkeling out at the jetties. He got some new swim boots and I got a new mask and snorkel. My other one I've had at least 6 years. I probably should pick up new fins to. I'm so attached to my old ones though. Aferwords we ate at Frank-N-Steins. When we got home, L made queso and I made burritos. A couple of friends stopped by. We left to go meet Tasha and watch Willy Wonka: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Liked it. Got home and friends were still here playing Cranium and watching Life Aquatic.
Yesterday I got pretty sick. I actually called into work. Those of you who know me well, know I haven't done this in at least 2 yrs. maybe longer. I was getting ready for work. Went to take a shower. While I was in the shower, I fainted. Luckily I'm a pro at fainting. I did it practically on a daily basis in highschool. Probably because I was so skinny and anemic... or so I have always thought. I could tell right away, my ears start ringing and get really hot. It's like that for a few seconds before everything goes black. I had enough time to switch to just cold water and lay in the bottom of the shower. Everything went black. The cold water kept me from going completely unconscious. I just had to wait for my vision to come back. I laid there like that for at least five minutes. I turned off the shower. D came in to use the bathroom. I was ghastly white, shaking/with goosebumps all over, and wrapped in a towel also sitting on the toilet as, I had just started my period and didn't want to bleed all over the goddamn place. I was cramping like a bitch on top of it all. I was sure I had taken enough iron pills and liquid vitamins before starting. My period always totally drains me. D was a little worried. It was the first time he's been home to see me like this. I usually can shake off my fainting spells but, I think added with the complications of my monthly visitor; it was just to much to handle. D used to be an E.M.T. and worked at the hospital for a good while as a security guard. It's kinda hard not to pick up on stuff. He said it seemed like hypoglycemia symptoms. At any rate, I didn't go into work. I was extremely weak all day. I just laid around most of the time and read my book. I finished it in the wee hours-o-the morn.
Today, I did work. I had a little trouble breathing most of the day and my tongue felt cold and a little numb too. I may still be depleted. I took some more vitamins and iron. Hope to be better tomorrow. At least I don't have to work.
