Otavalo and the end of our trip
So it's official, my dad and I are not going to be going to otovalo this trip; we're going to stay here for an extra week instead. We wanted to go, but there are two issues with this.
1. My dad wasn't able to find anything available north of Quito and close to otovalo that had open rooms. There weren't any rooms or even apartments or houses available anywhere.
2. Our original plan had been to stay in Quito for that week and then take a bus up to otovalo. The problem with this plan is that both of us have been having altitude problems and Quito is 1,000 feet higher than we are in Cuenca.
But we're still planning on going during another trip since my dad is planning on moving down here after he gets everything sorted out back home and of course, I'm going to have to visit him. We've already contacted the rental agency and they said we could stay an extra week, so that's all set!
I know I also have some pictures to post from the museum, but I'm going to hold off a little longer before I post any. They're already on my computer, but the internet connection has been really bad tonight.
Also, I tried to pay the tuition bill for this semester a few hours ago, but I need my bank's routing number to do it. I didn't bring my checkbook since I knew I wouldn't need it while I was here, so I had to send my mom an email asking her for it (her name is also on the account because I was too young to have one on my own when I got it). I really don't know how she's going to handle it. I'm hoping this isn't the case, but from past experiences, I'm going to assume that she's going to ask me why I didn't have it when I knew I was going to have to pay the tuition bill, she'll probably ask why she should have to do all the work, and will likely make some comment that I wouldn't have to worry about this if I had either decided to go to her school instead or if I hadn't gone on this trip.
