I really shouldn't be posting anything right now, since I promised my dad that I would try to start getting to be earlier (its 1:45 am in Cuenca right now), but whatever. We're almost positive that I have acute mountain sickness since I've experienced almost every single one of the symptoms in the last two or so weeks. Unfortunately, it includes things like nausea and dizziness (which I've gotten so bad a few times that I've had tunnel vision for a minute or two). It also includes, and this is the reason why I promised my dad I would try to get to bed earlier, insomnia and fatigue. So for the past week or two, I haven't been getting to bed until some time between 1 and 6 in the morning, I've been waking up between 10 and 2 in the afternoon, and I'm often tired the rest of the day. It's very frustrating, but I can't really do anything about it.
But the good thing is that I'm finally getting past a road block in a book idea I've had for the last few months! I haven't really been able to work on it much because I've been stuck on characters. I have a pretty detailed plot (at least for me) planned out, but I couldn't figure out any of the characters besides one of them. I told myself that I was going to at least get in the shower by midnight, but I got distracted by some ideas for characters and I thought that was a good reason for being up later that I had planned.
Now, I have 3 fairly set characters (names or at least potential names, locations, and some of their back stories). I also have ideas for 2 other characters, which means I either have all the characters I really need to get started or I just have one more to come up with. I just need to decide if I want the group to consist of five or six people.
Anyway, I was excited and felt like sharing...
