Lyrics and Books
I was listening to Tom Sawyer by Rush (partially distracting myself from studying) and decided to look at the lyrics. I have to say, I really like these two lines:
He knows changes aren't permanent,
but change is.
There are a lot of people out there that don't like change and I know I feel that way too at sometimes, but it's important to remember that things change...
Anyway, there was also an add for the HBO show Game of Thrones that's airing on Sunday. I remember seeing the book in the bookstore and thinking it sounded interesting, but I have so many other books to read. There's the book I'm reading now (just came out recently but I believe is the first of a trilogy), but I only have 60 pages of it left. I'm planning on finishing it this weekend. But there's also the book I was reading before I got the one I'm reading now. I'm only about 70 pages into that one and it's around 700 pages long, plus it's the first book in a trilogy that's the first trilogy in a series. And there's another book that I have but haven't started yet that isn't as nearly as long (probably only 300-400) but it's the first in a trilogy and the second book is already out. And then there's the book that I read in Costa Rica in January which I finished, but it's the first in a trilogy and the second book is already out in hardcover (though the paperback won't be out until toward the end of 2012).
ARGH! And I keep finding new books that look interesting. For example, besides the Game of Thrones, there are about 6 other books I have in a list of ones to read, most of which are the first in series. And then there's Treasure Island that I wanted to read a while back and The Illiad and the Oddyessy that I've been thinking about reading and also the story of Gilgamesh.
On top of that, I keep getting distracted by new shows and things I find online to read and there's classes and homework and studying on top of that, plus writing...AH!
I'm in a little over my head at the moment when it comes to reading...can you tell?
I think the problem is that I keep looking for or just finding new books to read before I finish the one's I'm on...
