HERO

Ok, so the print of HERO that was supposed to be in Tally at 8am yesterday morning did not come in. My boss called ETS and they said it would arrive by 8 pm.

This is the news I get at 6:30 pm when i get to work last night. So 8 pm rolls around and the prints not there yet. The Asst. Manager calls ETS again. (The manager had gone home by this point.) ETS says Benten has it now and it will be in by 6:30 am Fri morning. We are like what the hell, what happened to 8 pm tonight but all ETS gives him is some static. Chris (who will be the new Asst. Manager) calls ETS back to ask why they cant send it by private courier now. They are like cause we already gave it to Benten who is supposed to be the private currier we use and that it will be delivered to the theater at Noon friday. WTF? The first show is at 12:35pm. So then Chris calls Benten 1-800 # to get an ETA from them cause we were told 6:30 am before and now noon. Benten says well it just left Jacksonville so it really should be here by 2 am. Now we've gotten 3 different pick up times in about 15 minutes of calls. So Chris calls the local Benten depot and they are like no sir all of our trucks arrive at 8 am. Thats when you can get it. WTF? Now thats 4 different times. This is so asinine. So Chris just tells the guy to call my cell phone when it gets in and I'll come pick it up immediately. I head home at 12:30 am with the plan of going to sleep and if they call I'll get up and go get the print. If not I set the alarm for 6 am ad planned to start calling and bugging them about whether it was in or not then.

My cell phone rings at 3:30 AM. The print finally got here. It's only 19 hours late now. So I get up and go pick it up from the depot to take up to the theater. I get it all built and get it screened. I leave the theater at 8:45 am. I even had almost 4 hours to spare.

Onto a brighter note. HERO was awesome. It's really a beautiful film. It was worth getting up at 3:30 am to go build and screen. Plus i got to watch it in a completely empty theater. Thats always nice.
