Update
He coughed! Sounds small, I know, but it means he still has brain function. They are taking him off the blood pressure meds, which may be a good sign. They will start easing him off of the ventilator later, but they don't have too high of hopes for that just yet. They had to up the meds putting him in a chemically induced coma, to keep him out of pain. His kidneys are functioning on their own, so huzzah for that. If he survives, they will have to amputate his legs, testicles, fingers, part of his nose, his ear lobes and possibly his hands. He would need massive reconstructive surgery on his face, and lots of skin grafts.
On another bright note, his sister will probably be released tomorrow. She seems to be responding well to the treatments and was even laughing earlier.
My brother and his wife can still burn in the fiery pits of Hades, though... they decided to show up at the hospital HIGH last night... -_-.
