The following is quite possibly, the most strategic card game ever devised. I made it up several years ago with a couple of friends, and whenever I found groups of people who are willing to learn it and play it with me, it's always a great time.
The game is about teamwork and backstabbery. Shit talk and coaxing.
Cockblock the Card Game:
Cockblock is a dating simulation where all of the players are men at a bar, trying to go home with the only attractive girl at the end of the night. In order to go home with her, you must have her attention and buy her the last drink of the night.
The game is played in rounds. Players can join in at any time, but the longer a player plays, the more powerful his hand will be at the end, when it counts.
At the beginning of each round, all players can grab cards from the deck. They each draw till they have 7 cards in their hand. If they started with 7 cards, then they can draw an eighth. If someone suspects that there are not enough cards in the pile for the next round, they may call 'Last Call,' which, if nobody objects, declairs this round as the last round of the game.
Then, the player who won the last round of the game starts bidding. If this is the first round, then the first player to put down a card in the center is the bid leader.
A bid is made by putting any card with a higher value than the last placed bid into the center of the board. The bid's value is the face value of the card, except an ace, which resets the bidding to zero. If a player chooses to pass or cannot beat the last bid, then they are out of the round and cannot do anything until the start of the next round. When bidding, it is considered good sport to announce what your character did when he was competing for attention or how he one upped the competition.
Once there is only one person left bidding, they have won the attention of the girl for this round. They MUST buy her a drink, or forfiet the game.
In order to buy a drink for the girl, the player with her attention must discard cards until the value of the discarded cards equal 10 or more. If you have the girl's attention, but are unable to buy her a drink, you LOSE the game. If you buy her a drink at Last Call, you WIN the game. It is possible for nobody to win the game, I.E. The guys spend so much time undermining eachother, the girl goes with nobody.
Every card, from jack up, is a special card. They may only be played while you are eligible for bidding.
Jacks are Friends, they can be used to cancel the effect of any other special card.
Queens are Hose Beasts, you can play a Hose Beast on any player. Any player who has been Hose Beasted cannot play any cards until they have bought the Hose Beast a drink.
Kings are Fights. The person who starts the fight picks who they want to fight, then anyone else who has a king OR jack can join in the fight (jacks can also cancel it). Once the members of the fight have been declaired, they start their own bidding war. However, everyone who loses this bid cannot play any cards until the next round. The winner of the fight takes ALL of the leftover cards from the losers of the fight and puts them into his hand.
Aces are Awkward Moments. These cannot be played during fights. When an Awkward Moment is played, the round ends and the next one begins. Jacks can also cancel Awkward Moments.
