80 percent is a huge number. According to the Latin American Herald Tribune, most of the drug trafficking comes from South America through Puerto Rico, which is the cause to the majority of violence in the region. Analysts say that drug trafficking as become a means of support and a way of life for thousands of Puerto Ricans, and the amount of drugs brought into the country are to satisfy the demand of the 40,000 hard-core drug users who currently live in the U.S. commonwealth. I find these facts and statistics to be alarming. If the country works on lessining its drug problem, perhaps the murder rates of the country will go down. Just a thought...
