I’m bringing back my live journal on a sad note; today Kate Dawes from my high school passed away in the peace of her home, only two weeks ago we were partying at a benefit concert for her. Although we knew she was very ill, it came as a brutal shock to all of us, no one expected it to come so soon, or maybe it was that as twenty year olds we don’t think it was possible to happen one of our own. I guess some where deep inside we deny what is sooner or later inevitable. I think the last words I said to her where:
"thank you for a good night, to bad the band sucked and get well ASAP *hug*"
when you leave a party you expect to see the people you spent the night with again.. but then again if I knew they would be my last words to her I wouldn’t have known what to say.
Dear Kate:
I sure hope heaven has some sweet ass internet connection so you can read this letter; Although we didn’t know each other very well we crossed paths many times, playing sax in the school band under the instruction of that wacky Mr Abdula, or the sailing class's in those shoddy little mirrors :P I think I spent more time in the water then in the boat. hope the next place is treating you well, we will all strive to join you in a school reunion one day up there.
Your Friend, Donald
P.S I had a crush on you in year 8.
