Jonathan posted this on his journal so I figured I'd fill in my own answers, for now.

1. What did you do in 2006 that you'd never done before?
Moved to a foreign country, got a bachelor's degree, wrote a thesis, got a job in retail, went on stage at the Globe in London...the list goes on.

2. Did you keep your New Year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don't think I made any, and doubt if I'll remember to do so this coming year.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Nein.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
No.

5. What countries did you visit?
England. Although it's hardly a visit.

6. What would you like to have in 2007 that you lacked in 2006?
Money, a Master's degree, a full-time salaried job, an apartment I like.

7. What date from 2006 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
January 26 (or was it the 19th?). Well obviously the date doesn't matter so much as the memory of the night I lost my two front teeth and a lot of dignity.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
My thesis, getting into grad school...

9. What was your biggest failure?

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
See question 7.

11. What were the best things you bought?
A plane ticket to Heathrow.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
My parents, for putting up with my rent fiasco, my drunken collapse and this London crap.

13. Whose behavior appalled you?
Texas and UCLA football teams.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Rent rent rent reeeent rent.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Grad school...hmm.

16. What song will always remind you of 2006?
Probably Amy Winehouse's "Rehab"

17. Compared to this time last year, are you: happier or sadder?
Not as happy but living with the knowledge that a year from now I will be much happier. Sounds like a line from Macbeth.

Probably thinner although it's coming back.

iii. richer or poorer?
Poorer. Much...MUCH poorer.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Saving money.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Worrying.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?
With Sophie in Bristol...who knows what that means!

22. Did you fall in love in 2006?
With Los Angeles, and I didn't even know it.

23. How many one-night stands?
Countless.

24. What was your favorite TV program?
CSI defined my year! Oh! That's the song! "Whooooo Are You"

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Not really...

26. What was the best book you read?
The Nero Wolfe series.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Amy Winehouse

28. What did you want and get?
Admission to grad school!

29. What did you want and not get?
Money.

30. What was your favorite film of this year?
Mrs. Henderson Presents, even though it's technically from the year before.

31. What did you do on your birthday?
Went to Benihana with Katie, J.Claus, Aaron, Tessie and Brandon...aka my favorite people from all over the USA.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Steady finances.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2006?
Business casual.

34. What kept you sane?
Hope for the future.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Madonna. Oh, more songs that mean 2006!

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
A blue Congress

37. Who did you miss?
Tessie, Brandon, my family, Katie, TEA!!!

38. Who was the best new person you met?
Sophie, Lucia and Maya in a three-way tie.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2006.
Make goals. Achieve them. Accept the possibility of failure in order to circumvent it. Or, to quote Tea, "firm goals, flexible methods."
