Sailingships left Gdynia and now the quays and the President's Basin where the biggest ones were moored seems to be more empty than ever before.
It was a wonderful time. The great parade was amazing and seeing so many sailingships under sails is unforgottable. That day the sea belonged to the sailingships. Huge sailingships under the full sails and hundrets of small yachts.
Took a lot of photos, bought some postcards and a cup as souvenirs. And of course visited as many sailingships as I could: 'Alexander von Humbold', 'Sorlandet', 'Kaliakra', 'George Stage', 'Yunyi Baltiets', 'Mir' and 'Fryderyk Chopin'. Couldn't miss a possibility to revisit 'Dar Młodzieży'.
Regret a bit things I missed but I would have to be in two places at once to attend to them.
'Dar Pomorza' was the honoured guest of the parade. Was taken out of the port and placed near the route of it. Every ship from the biggest sailingship to the smallest yacht saluted to her.
Soon 'Dar Pomorza' will have 100 years. If only she could sail all by herself, under the sails... At TSR there were ships build more than 100 years ago but still sailing so it's not impossible.
Will upload more photos at dA and also here (a sailingships picspam, oh yes).
