A couple who were killed in a horrific car crash in Sydney earlier this week were on their way home from visiting their premature baby in hospital when they died.
Lucy Schollbach, who is 19 days old, is being treated in a humidicrib at the Royal Hospital for Women in Sydney after being born 12 weeks premature and weighing just 1.3kg, the Nine Network reports.
Her parents, Justin Schollbach and Leah James, died instantly on Tuesday after their car veered off the road and crashed into a light pole on their way home to Kurnell in Sydney's south east.
They had been visiting Lucy, who was the couple's first baby together, twice a day since she was born.
Ms James also left behind five other children aged between six and 15, the Sunday Telegraph reports. Her former partner, Andrew Loxton, told the newspaper she was a loving person.
"Leah was always smiling like a cheshire cat, so happy to be visiting her little baby girl," he said. "I'd just like to see that smile again," Mr Loxton was quoted as saying.
Lucy, who is expected to stay in hospital until November, is currently in the care of the Department of Community Services until it is decided who will raise her.

That poor little girl. She never knew her loving parents and now she is probably going to be passed around. I wonder how, IF she will find out about her mother and father and what happened to them.
