Reply back from Google

Hm, looks like I have a person from Google to talk with about this. Here is his statement and my reply:

Hi N***!

Thanks for the reply. I am a bit confused here, you say that Google Profiles requires me to use the name that I commonly go by. And I totally agree, CZ *IS* the name that I commonly go by. It's not some online pseudonym, joke, or something I came up with this morning. CZ represents me offline as well as online.

I'm not sure why you say "a name like CZ Unit". It's not "like", it is. And as far as confirming this:

I provided the url and access to my Live Journal, a site run by SixApart, which is a rather respected company in terms of journals. I have been using the same identity since 2002 there. There are 3,000+ posts which prove this, along with replies from well over a hundred people attesting to this.

I provided google email addresses and statements from people who will attest to the fact that I am CZ and they know me as such. Here's a few more:

From m**********@gmail.com
I know you as CZ. I introduce you as CZ. I mention to other people that "I spent hours in the bar up in Boston with folk I think of from DC - but Doug's an hour West of me and CZ's an hour North." and I talk about how wonderful it is when my friend CZ picks me up in a greeting hug.

you are cz. I will state this for the record to the evil overlords.

Add me to the list of people who've known you as CZ for, gosh,
something pushing on toward 25 years?

This is the address and name under which Google knows me.

E.

I have explained that I have been known in the technology community as CZ for well over 25 years now, back to the dawn of the Internet. When your profile system asks me to "use the name that I commonly go by", the answer is CZ.

You are more than welcome to contact them for verification.

That should be more than sufficient to prove my identity, that this is the name I go by, that I am not committing fraud, and that I am not impersonating another person or entity.

In summary:

I am using my full first and last name in such a way that people can find me online and connect with the right person.

I am not using unusual characters in my name.

My profile and name represents one person, me.

I am not using the name of another individual.

Given this, please re-activate my profile. Also given that this is of significant interest to my community, I will be posting these replies to my live journal. If this is an issue, pls let me know.

Thank you!
CZ
