*sigh*
One of the more beatiful places I have found in my travels is Tennessee. It's such a pretty state, it has beautiful mountains, nice roads, trees, and really sweet people. They're friendly, polite, nice. To be honest I feel a bit like a buffoon there. But they're friendly and seem to work with people who are a bit.. well northern.
We thought about moving there, leaving Boo Manor and the East Coast and finding a place to live outside say Johnson City. There were a few LJ people down there as well. And of course there's Dollywood.
Well, that was until someone decided to shoot up the Unitarian church. Apparently because they were not "Christian enough". Well that put a bit of a stop on things.
And now they're
burning down mosques once again probably because they don't fit someone's idea of proper Christian.
Which reminded me of something. Yes, people will be nice to me because I'm tall, white, a mason, and a bunch of other stuff. But you know at some point you say something that they don't like. And then those nice friendly Christian people come on over and burn your house down. Or kill your pastor, or whatever.
No, I don't think I'll be moving to Tennessee. And not even because I think I would be harassed; I have ways of joining with people to the point where they would say "Yes, he worships Satan, but he's such a nice young man". No it's because I don't want to support people who would do things like that and worse, stand by and let it happen without a protest.
Where are the fiery sermons against hate?
Where are all the churches standing together on this?
Where are the condemnations?
I'll watch this closely. It should be interesting.
