Man I can talk.
So I get back and go to the Corporate all hands meeting down in Baltimore. About 1500 people or so, one of the speakers asked a couple of volunteers to get up on stage and tell a story about a big failure. So I got up, took the mike and told the story of when I was switching floppies on a production server and actually hit the power button instead of eject. And had to hold it for hours while they got everyone off (major law firm). Everyone went silent as I told the story.
After the third person, the speaker had people vote. Lot of claps for the first one. Then a roaring standing ovation for me. Yep, I won it. A stuffed honey badger for the funniest mistake. And all evening people loved me. President of the company loved it. Everyone loved it.
I can talk. I really can get up there and tell a story. It's just me. Wow, for the longest time I never really knew that but here we are....
And they really, really like me.
