alternative therapies and pet peeves

Does anyone else find that people sometimes suggest alternative therapies as valid therapies for their CF...and maybe even to the point that they imply such therapies can significantly help or even cure CF?

I am very sceptical of alt. therapies and have not tried any...mostly because of their cost, because I do not have health insurance, and quite honestly I do not think most (if any) would do anything.

But I had a facebook encounter with someone who suggested I try something called BreakThrough or Body Talk...stating that it may be able to change DNA.

And then he mentioned Bruce Lipton. Who apparently has a PhD in Developmental Biology and thinks you can change your DNA with your thoughts (which, I will come straight out and say, I think is bullshit, even if I have read nothing on it).

I just find it very frustrating when people suggest these things.
We can't 'think away' our CF. I find it insulting that people would even imply this.

Any thoughts or similar feelings/experiences?
