Welcome to the Jungle!
So, I thought as a surprise, I'd do a little mini-makeover on Lauren's room while she's gone. Since she loves animals, I thought perhaps jungle. I don't know if I'm going to bother painting the walls (I may paint canvases or put up canvases with animals on them or something) but I don't think the current Nomadic Desert colour is bad. Anyway, I bought a bunch of fake ferns and leaves and vines and some vine and flower garland for around her window, but my main idea was to have a mosquito netting canopy (you know, the ones that suspend from the ceiling on a hook and the netting drapes down from a hoop) and then possibly attach leaves and things to it.
I had seen these all over the place before. Now I have all this stuff and the one thing I can't find is the canopy. Huh.
Anyway, have any of you ever done a jungle-inspired room? Any suggestions for things I can do that don't involve painting the walls? She already has a monkey marionette that I will hang from the ceiling and I there is a ledge around here room that I will run my leaf garland around. I also read online a suggestion of making leaves from felt and making vine from twine or such. I bought two grass skirts made of raffia and I plan to take it up under her bed (converted crib) to use as a bedskirt. Now I have to figure out how to incorporate animals (besides her zoo of stuffed animals, that it!) Ideas anyone?
